5 12 2007To encourage the running of Bike Week events in Scotland Cycling Scotland is organising a Bike Week Seminar on 12th of February (2008) at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh – “giving expert advice on all aspects of Bike Week from deciding what type of event to put on, best practise in event organisation, PR and promotion and information on the various benefits that Bike Week can offer.”

Bike Week Ends With a Party

It’s over for another year. The weather was – well – mostly awful.
At least there was plenty to do indoors with the Edinburgh Bike Week Film Festival.
And it all ended with a party.

A Photographic Exhibition for the 2007 Edinburgh Bike Week Film Festival is now on show in the Filmhouse Cafe. It will run until the end of the month.
TryCycling Ride to Swanston Village.
Etape Caledonia. Not quite a race. A ride on CLOSED Perthshire roads.
A ‘happening’ on the cycle path at 2-3pm. It’s a live sound and music piece using bicycles and invited musicians, created by artists Vic MacRae and Aileen Campbell. It will take place by the Water of Leith just north of the Great Junction Street Bridge (local access from Coburg Street).
Sunday 24th UCI International Grand Prix of Edinburgh at Meadowbank Velodrome. Spectators welcome.

The LCV Bike Ride Adult beginners/easy ride
LCV are the Lothians Conservation Volunteers. We carry out practical nature conservation, mostly on Sundays, in Edinburgh and the Lothians for the benefit of wildlife, people and the environment. On this Saturday some of us will be going for a gentle, social bike ride using roads and cycle paths, with a stop for lunch.

Meet up on the colourful bridge over Roseburn Terrace from 17:30. We will set off around 18:00. The ride will be a friendly affair at a gentle pace, along the old railway path to Granton, then along the Forth Waterfront to Cramond village, where we will be visiting the Cramond Inn for some liquid refreshment and a good blether.
